Oona Masikam Calculator – 28–30th, 45th, 6th Month & Unabdikam

Oona Masikam rites are fixed day-count windows in the first year after death—not the monthly Masikam tithi loop. Families pick a permissible day inside each window with Vadhyar guidance.

The four classical windows are Prathama Oona (days 28–30; some traditions also day 21), Traipakshika / 45th-day Oona (41–45), Oona Shan Masikam near six months (171–180), and Unabdikam / Oonabdika before the first annual (341–355).

Common search phrases include “oona masikam calculator”, “una masikam”, “oonam dates”, “ஊன மாசிகம்”, and “traipakshika oona”. Drikganita scores each candidate weekday and tithi for your city.

Days are filtered against Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday; restrictive tithis (Prathamai, Caturthī, Ṣaṣṭī, Navamī, Ekādaśī, Caturdaśī); optional Karthā birth nakṣatra; and Dvi-/Tri-puṣkara yoga.

FAQ

What is the difference between Masikam and Oona Masikam?
Masikam repeats every lunar month on the death tithi. Oona Masikam is four special short-of-month / mid-year rites timed by days from the death date.
Can Oona be done on Tuesday, Friday, or Saturday?
No. This calculator treats Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday as restricted weekdays for Oona Masikam and will not recommend them. Confirm any exception with your śākhā or Vadhyar.
